I'm trying to take a step toward thinking about what makes a good image instead of fixating on portraying reality. i like the silhouette in the black floor but dont know if it really works. what do you like more? a little critique would help, thanks

The contrast is a good idea, but the gradient as you've applied it right now is a little too Photoshop-y. Maybe try changing up the opacity and use some of the texture you applied in the other version?
